This book helped me see some things about myself more clearly. I recognized myself in many of the examples and now I know what I can work to change.

This book is a good resource for those struggling with anxiety and depression. Another great resource for facilitating personal transformation and overcoming anxiety, anger and other forms of emotional stress is mindfulness. I also recommend 'The Path of Mindfulness Meditation' available through Amazon.

It's good book for someone with light to moderate fear issues, but doesn't seem to have enough substance to help those with deep set fear and anxiety.

This book impacted me in such a profound way. I have been struggling with all the issues addressed in the book for many years and "Fear and Other Univited Guests" really helped me see my fears and anxieties in a new way. I really like the way Dr. Lerner weaves in personal experiences and light-hearted stories into a book about very serious issues. I highly recommend it!

Every day I drive long distances so I thought that getting this on CD would be worthwhile. Unfortunately, the author narrates her book which I think is a big mistake. She has a very distracting accent and reading style. It doesn't help that she begins the first chapter by giving us a detailed description of the daily activities of her cat. After tolerating about two and a half minutes of this, I skipped to the next track. That was about 9/11. I don't have any fear or anxieties about terrorism so I skipped to the next track. The subject matter sounded interdesting but again, I just couldn't get past her accent.

I really think that unless authors are good speakers, they should leave the narrations to trained professionals.
