My 2 1/2 year old daughter got this castle for Christmas… and it lacks a bit of everything.

First of all, the 3 castle flags and the candelabra for the table all fall out of their holes with the slightest touch- which frustrated my daughter and myself. So we super-glued them in.

Secondly, it only offers 3 areas for sound.

1- The horse button whinnies while birds chirp. Cute.

2- The treasure box has a “magic” sound. Then it hums. Then it sounds like Bigfoot going through the forest, which I can only assume is a crackling fire.

3- The slider for the dancers plays Disney’s Princess Aurora’s theme song (“Once Upon A Dream”), and The Nutcracker’s “Russian Dance.” Another cute.

And a final rant: The double-bed is awkward play for a 2-year-old, the chairs don’t stand up on carpet, and my daughter was upset the vanity drawer didn’t open up- because it looks like it would, one can’t put in the dolls to dance unless you curse at it- and I’d rather not in front of my kids.

Bottom line: Go buy the Fischer Price Busy Day Home. It’s way more interesting, educational, more worth your money, and the dolls look like they could be both girls or both boys- so you don’t run into Lesbian/Gay parent problems. :P

This toy is about $30 at the stores or $35.00 online elsewhere. Why is it over $50 here? Anyway, bought it for a friend for her girl’s bday back in October (at a store) and she loved it. Was thinking of buying it here for a toys for tots, but I’ll buy it elsewhere because of the inflated price.

I bought this for my 3 year old, now 4, one year ago. The pieces come apart all the time, get scattered everywhere. She hardly ever plays with it, because it just falls into segements and little pieces. The table leg broke on the table. As far as I am concerned, this is a nuisance junk toy. If I could have those few dollars back, knowing how the toy has been for one year, I’d buy something else.

I purchased the Little People Palace for my granddaughter’s birthday. She loves

playing “Princess” and wanted a “Pretty pink castle” for her birthday. I searched hard and wide and found this to be best match for her wish and trusted also in the quality of Fisher Price products. Amazon provided an affordable, easy way to purchase her gift. She is wonderfully satisfied with the palace, still referring to it as a “castle” – she plays with it every day, having adventure after adventure with the figures provided and any additional figures she may come across. It’s such a thrill to know you can make a little one’s dream come true.

My daugeter loved this castle. She especially loves it when I play WITH her, but she still loves it on her own. The only downfall that I see with this product is that when it comes to closing it up, it’s not an easy task. Every piece has to be in such a certain place…we usually just keep it open–(but I’d rather close it up for room reasons!!)
